LOCKPORT – A New York City man, in the Buffalo area to attend college, was granted a conditional discharge in a credit card fraud case Friday by Niagara County Judge Sara Sheldon Farkas.

The condition is that Byron S. Hickman, 24, must head to Montgomery County to serve six months in jail and 4½ years’ probation for a similar charge. Hickman just finished a one-year Erie County sentence for more credit card fraud.

Hickman was charged with having about 10 fake credit cards which he used on a shopping spree in November 2012 at the Fashion Outlets Mall in the Town of Niagara. He pleaded guilty to attempted second-degree criminal possession of a forged instrument.
