LOCKPORT – Cara M. Toarmino, 28, of 24th Street, Niagara Falls, who was arrested after a Falls officer making a traffic stop Aug. 1 allegedly found painkillers in the car, pleaded not guilty to a four-count indictment Monday in Niagara County Court.

She is charged with third-, fourth- and fifth-degree possession and third-degree sale of a controlled substance. Also named in the indictment but not yet arraigned is Michael J. Paonessa III, 23, of Niagara Street in the Falls; he is charged with third-degree sale and possession.

Assistant District Attorney Laura T. Bittner said oxymorphone, hydrocodone and acetaminophen allegedly were found in plain view by the police officer.
