Hodgson Russ announced four new attorneys in its Buffalo office have been admitted to the New York State Bar. Included are: Rafael F. Pignataro, real estate and finance practice group; Karalyn M. Rossi, business litigation and torts, insurance and products liability practice groups; Aaron M. Saykin, business litigation practice group; and Emelia G. Short, estates and trust practice group.


The Niagara River Region Chamber of Commerce will honor the following businesses and individuals at the Annual Chamber Awards Gala on May 16th at the Niagara Falls Country Club in Lewiston: Chairman’s Award, Great Lakes Real Estate; River Region Partnership Award, Brett’s Tent & Awning; Lewiston Business of the Year, Water Street Landing; Youngstown Business of the Year, Bandana’s Bar & Grill; Ransomville Business of the Year, Patti’s Cut Above; Sanborn Business of the Year, Sanborn Old General Store Antique Co-op; Village of Lewiston Citizen of the Year, James R. Franey; Village of Youngstown Citizen of the Year, Tina Oddy; Town of Porter Citizen of the Year, Ransomville Volunteer Fire Co.; and Town of Lewiston Citizen of the Year, Lee Simonson. The awards are given based on leadership, dedication and achievement in the community.


American Medical Response appointed Tom Maxian general manager in New York and Ohio. Maxian, a former chief executive officer of Twin City Ambulance, will oversee the company’s operations and pursue new opportunities in the region. He is a SUNY Buffalo State graduate, and earned his MBA from the University at Buffalo School of Management and a law degree from the UB School of Law.

Company Connections

Stampede Presentation Products, an Amherst-based distributor of presentation equipment, will serve as a distributor of the entire product line for Videotel Inc., a manufacturer and marketer of industrial and commercial upscaling HD DVD players, multimedia, and audio players for digital signage and video content throughout North America.
