A power failure in the Town of Hanover temporarily forced Lake Shore Health Care Center in Irving to use an emergency generator and divert new emergency-room patients this morning. Power was back on by mid-morning.
The power failure hit some time around 6 a.m. today. The hospital instituted its emergency protocol procedures, alerting local ambulance providers and fire companies to take new emergency patients elsewhere until the problem is resolved.
“We do have our emergency generator running, so we are taking care of all our patients,” Scott Butler, who’s in business development at the hospital, said during the outage. “They’re all safe and secure.”
