NIAGARA FALLS – A Niagara Falls man accused of shoplifting Friday fled police from two agencies, who eventually managed to box in his car, authorities said Saturday.

Angel F. Carabello, 46, of Cleveland Avenue, is charged with petit larceny, third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation and failure to yield the right-of-way to an emergency vehicle.

Carabello is accused of shoplifting $86 worth of fragrances from the Target store on Niagara Falls Boulevard about 3 p.m. Police said they caught up with the suspect’s car as it turned onto to Niagara Falls Boulevard but he refused to pull over until a Town of Niagara officer managed to box him in.

Police said they recovered the stolen items.
