A drunk driver caused a three-car injury accident on Transit Road at Roll in Clarence Friday night, Erie County Sheriff’s deputies reported.

The driver who caused the crash was charged with felony DWI because of a previous conviction, and her blood alcohol content was more than double the legal limit, deputies added.

The accident occurred about 10 p.m. when one vehicle struck a second vehicle from behind and forced that vehicle to collide with the rear end of a third vehicle. During the investigation, deputies said they determined that the driver who caused the crash was intoxicated.

Julia Bastin, 57, of Clarence was arrested on the DWI charge and taken to the Sheriff’s Clarence substation where a breath test revealed her blood alcohol content to be .21 percent. She was transferred to the Erie County Holding Center.
