NIAGARA FALLS – Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center has appointed Sarah Obot coordinator of its Niagara Falls Community Health Worker program.

The appointment means Obot will be working double duty, since she will continue to coordinate Project Runway, the Medical Center program that helps young women achieve drug- and alcohol-free lifestyles.

A native of Belgium, Obot holds a master’s degree in education from a university there.

She is the former supervisor of the extended day program at the Niagara Falls Boys and Girls Club and a former language ambassador at the Niagara University College of Education.

Community Health Worker programs provide services to women who are at highest risk for low-birth weight babies and infant mortality. Support is provided during pregnancy and following childbirth.
