House Majority Leader Eric Cantor and Rep. Brian Higgins will kick off the new Daemen College Distinguished Leaders Lecture Series in upcoming separate appearances.
Higgins, a Buffalo Democrat, will deliver the inaugural lecture entitled “From the Ground Up: Building a Stronger Western New York and Nation,” at 7 p.m. Feb. 24 in the Wick Campus Center social room.
Cantor – who ranks as number two in the House of Representatives – will be guest speaker from at 2 p.m. March 10, also in the Wick Center. He will be introduced by Rep. Chris Collins, R-Clarence.
“This lecture series will give prominent leaders in the political and public service sectors the opportunity to share their experiences and insight on timely key topics,” said Daemen President Gary A. Olson. “By featuring speakers diverse in thought, perspective and leadership style, we will be fostering important discussions on varied issues impacting our region and country.”
Reservations for the Higgins lecture are requested by Monday by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org and by March 3 for the Cantor event by emailing email@example.com.
