Inbound and outbound Metro Rail trains will use the same underground track between the Allen-Medical Campus Station and the Humboldt-Hospital Station beginning Tuesday due to construction work, the Niagara Frontier Transportation Authority announces.

The project, which involves replacement of the overhead catenary cable and insulation, is expected to be finished March 15. Delays of six to 15 minutes from the normal schedule are likely, the NFTA estimates.

Passengers at the Allen-Medical, Summer-Best Utica, Delevan and Humboldt-Hospital stations will use the same platform to board inbound and outbound trains while the work is in progress. Signs and announcements will tell riders if a train is inbound to the Erie Canal Harbor Station or outbound to the University Station.
