Lady Gaga takes over castle

Tourists are giving way to dancers as a production crew takes over Hearst Castle on the California coast, where Lady Gaga is shooting a big-budget music video.

The San Luis Obispo Tribune says filming is taking place this week at the indoor blue-and-gold tiled Roman Pool and the outdoor Neptune Pool.

The pop diva had yet to be seen as crew members carried in bags full of fake flowers and a giant plaster seashell Tuesday.

Shoots at the state historical site are extremely rare. Gaga is donating $250,000 to the Hearst Castle foundation in addition to underwriting a $25,000 water supply study and paying special fees.

Sting play venue announced

Singer-songwriter Sting’s new musical “The Last Ship” has found a nice berth on Broadway.

Producer Jeffrey Seller said Wednesday that the show – inspired by Sting’s memories of growing up in a shipbuilding community in northeast England – will start performances Sept. 30 at the Neil Simon Theatre. Opening night will be Oct. 26.

“The words are there. The music is there. It’s time to get into the room and make the play,” said Seller, who has won Tony Awards for “Rent,” “Avenue Q” and “In the Heights.” “We look forward to getting to work.”

The story centers on a man from a seafaring town who travels the world for 14 years only to return to find the shipyard’s future in grave danger and his sweetheart engaged to someone else. Sting, who was raised in northeast England, has been working on it for four years.

Jordans welcome twin girls

Michael Jordan has more to be happy about than just the improved play of his NBA franchise.

His wife, Yvette, has given birth to the couple’s identical twin daughters, Jordan’s spokeswoman Estee Portnoy told The Associated Press.

Portnoy said Tuesday night Yvette Jordan, 35, gave birth to Victoria and Ysabel on Sunday in West Palm Beach, Fla.

“Yvette Jordan and the babies are doing well and the family is overjoyed at their arrival,” Portnoy said.

Jordan is the owner of the NBA’s Charlotte Bobcats, who are currently the eighth seed in the Eastern Conference.
