Grace F. Fiebelkorn, of Buffalo, a retired bank executive, died Monday in Buffalo General Medical Center after a short illness. She was 77.
Born in Buffalo, Ms. Fiebelkorn attended Nardin Academy, was a graduate of East High School and attended Buffalo State College.
She began her 40-year career with Marine Midland Bank as a teller, became an assistant manager and served as manager of the Abbott Road branch for many years. Marine Midland was taken over by HSBC in 1981. She retired as a vice president of HSBC in 2002.
A Cheektowaga resident until 16 years ago, she was a devoted gardener and won first place in the Lovejoy District in the Buffalo in Bloom contest in 2002.
She also enjoyed traveling. Visiting her late brother, Daniel, a fishing guide in Alaska, she caught a 60-pound Chinook salmon.
She was a member of St. Bernard’s Catholic Church and was active in the East Clinton Professional & Businessmen’s Association.
Survivors include three daughters, Ann Basher, Sally Pyszczek and Lisa Pyszczek; a son, Christopher Pyszczek; two sisters, Sharon Bialo and Sandra Noble; and five grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 9:30 a.m. Friday in St. Bernard’s Church, 1990 Clinton St. at South Ogden Street.
