OLAF FUB SEZ: According to German poet and playwright Bertolt Brecht, born on this date in 1898, “Because things are the way they are, things will not stay the way they are.”

Brrrr …

All the snow and bitter cold

Remind me I am getting old.

Where once I’d go out and ski,

Now I stay home and drink hot tea.

No more playing in the snow,

Especially when the wind chill is 20 below!

As kids, we went sledding,

Threw snowballs, made forts.

Ah, the delight of winter sports!

So here’s a toast to arctic fun,

But I prefer the good ol’ sun.

Give me a nice hot summer.

This winter is a bummer!
