NIAGARA FALLS – A forum to discuss the state’s Common Core education standards, which was postponed from earlier this month, has been rescheduled for Feb. 13.
Featured speakers will include Walter Polka, Niagara University professor and retired superintendent of the Lewiston-Porter School District, John McKenna, principal of Fletcher Elementary school in Tonawanda and Ashli Skura-Dreher, a special education teacher at Lewiston-Porter, who was named New York State’s 2014 Teacher of the Year.
Also on hand will be teachers union officials, Assemblyman John D. Ceretto and State Sen. George D. Maziarz.
The event will begin at 6 p.m. in Niagara Falls High School, 4455 Porter Road.
It was originally scheduled for Jan. 6 but was postponed because of weather.
