Vendors Day to celebrate African-American history

VA Western New York Healthcare System will kick off its celebration of African-American History Month with African-American Vendors Day, featuring local businesses, artists and crafts from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday.

All programs will take place in Freedom Hall, Room 301, in the hospital at 3435 Bailey Ave., and are open to the public.

This year’s theme is “Civil Rights in America: The Black Church and the Civil Rights Movement.”

Other highlights will be a film festival from noon to 1 p.m. Feb. 21 and Feb. 26, in which the 2013 movie “Lee Daniels’ The Butler” will be shown in two parts.

Refreshments will be available at the Feb. 21 program.
