LEWISTON – The Lewiston Council on the Arts has won two state arts grants totaling $4,675 for a pair of upcoming projects.
The Council and Just Buffalo Literary Center will launch the “Lewiston Arts Cafée,” which will feature some of the finest poets and musicians in the area, presented in a 1960s coffeehouse tradition.
The shows, beginning at 7 p.m. Feb. 11, will be held every two months in the Lewiston Opera Hall, 732 Center St.
An afternoon of “Alice in Wonderland”-themed events is set for June 1, at Seneca Park, sometimes called Bug Park, near the Lewiston Public Library.
The Motus O Dance Company from Toronto will perform “Alice,” an adaptation of Lewis Carroll’s stories.
Members of the Lewiston-Porter High School Drama Club will bring costumed “Alice in Wonderland” characters to read, sing, dance and participate in a tea party with the children who attend.
