Three injured in two-car crash in Orleans County

ALBION – Two drivers and a passenger were hospitalized after a two-car crash Thursday morning on Roosevelt Highway in the Town of Kendall.

William A. Ireland, 85, of Kendall was driving his pickup-truck east in the 16800 block of Roosevelt which is State Route 18, and was trying to make a left turn into Crosby’s Mini-Mart there about 10:45 a.m. when he crossed into the path of a westbound pickup driven by Thomas Johnson, 50, of Waterport.

In the crash Ireland’s passenger, his daughter, Denise M. Norton, 53, also of Kendall, was trapped in her father’s pickup for about 30 minutes before being extricated by Kendall firefighters. She and her father were taken to Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester for treatment. Johnson, the sole occupant of his pickup, was taken to Unity Park-Ridge Hospital in Greece. The accident continues to be investigated by the Orleans County Sheriff’s Office and no charges have been filed.
