CAMBRIA – Tracks in the snow led a 56-year-old Diller Road man on a search for a missing snowmobile and a stolen ATV on Wednesday morning.

The victim told Niagara County sheriff’s deputies that someone had broken into his snowmobile trailer and removed his snowmobile sometime between midnight and 7:30 a.m. Wednesday in the 5900 block of Diller Road.

The victim said he was able to follow the tracks in the snow to find his snowmobile, about 150 feet away in the brush line, but found that someone had broken into the snowmobile’s cargo pouch. He followed more tracks leading to a shed behind his house and said someone had broken the lock and stole his 2003 Kawasaki ATV. Total loss and damage amounted to $1,100.

Deputies found the ATV tracks leading to the roadway, but were unable to determine where it had gone from there.
