General Motors’ Town of Tonawanda engine plant can claim a piece of a pair of honors announced Monday at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit.
The Chevrolet Corvette Stingray and the Chevrolet Silverado were named the 2014 North American Car and Truck of the Year. The Tonawanda plant produces engines for both vehicles.
The winners were chosen by a jury of 49 automotive journalists from the United States and Canada. The competition evaluates vehicles on factors such as innovation, comfort, design, safety, handling, driver satisfaction, and value for the dollar.
