Royalton Hartland Community Library adds new free service

MIDDLEPORT – The Royalton Hartland Community Library has added a new, free magazine service called “Zinio,” for patrons to use on its new computer and Internet station.

Library Director Rose Bernard said, “With Zinio, patrons can enjoy the convenience of reading digital editions of their favorite magazines. They can check out as many editions as they want, and there are no holds or due dates. There is no fee for this service, which patrons can sign up for with their library card.”

Youth Librarian Ellen Gagne added, “I think what is appealing to many is that you can read your favorite magazines anytime, anywhere on your computer, iPad, e-reader or even a smartphone. It’s very easy to sign up, but we would like to make it even easier. We are inviting patrons in to sign up with our help.”

There are detailed instructions for library patrons who would like to sign up from home by visiting the library’s website at

Local resident Ellen Hammond Ryan donated the new four-computer work station and chairs.
