A Buffalo man admitted Thursday before U.S. District Judge Richard J. Arcara to robbing three banks last summer.

Jason Berg, 22, pleaded guilty to robbing First Niagara Bank at 1000 Elmwood Ave. in April, M&T Bank at 788 Elmwood in May and M&T Bank at 1580 Hertel Ave. in June.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Mary Catherine Baumgarten said Berg faces up to 6½ years in prison and will have to pay $12,274 in restitution to the three banks.

Berg’s guilty plea is the result of an investigation by the FBI’s Safe Streets Task Force.
