Input being sought on impact of Common Core curriculum

SANBORN – Assemblyman John D. Ceretto, a co-sponsor of legislation to repeal the Common Core school curriculum standards in New York, has called a public meeting for 6 p.m. Monday at Niagara County Community College to seek opinions on Common Core’s impact.

Speakers will include Walter Polka, retired Lewiston-Porter school superintendent; John McKenna, principal of Fletcher Elementary School in the City of Tonawanda, and Lew-Port special- education teacher Ashli Skura-Dreher, the reigning state teacher of the year.
