A 23-year-old man was shot to death Saturday evening by one or two men who approached him in the 100 block of Domedion Avenue, police said.
The victim was declared dead at the scene after the 6:45 p.m. attack, and homicide detectives are investigating, city spokesman Michael DeGeorge said.
DeGeorge said it would be too soon to speculate whether the shooting was in any way related to any other recent crimes in the city.
Ten other people in Buffalo – most of them young men, and most targeted in attacks on the city’s East Side – have been killed by gunfire since Oct. 1. The victim on Domedion, which runs off Genesee Street near Schiller Park, is the third man in his 20s to be killed by gunfire in Buffalo this month.
The identity of the latest victim has yet to be be released.
Earlier this month, police told The Buffalo News they believe at least some of the unsolved slayings may be related to each other.
Anyone with any information about the shooting is asked by police to call the city’s Confidential Tip Line at 847-2255.
