JAMESTOWN — A 21-year-old Sinclairville man faces charges stemming from an investigation into stolen checks that were cashed following a burglary, state police announced Tuesday.

Troopers on Dec. 13 arrested Shawn M. Hale, of Kent Street, on charges of third-degree grand larceny, fifth-degree possession of stolen property and second-degree criminal possession of a forged instrument.

Police said the checks were cashed at multiple locations throughout Chautauqua County from Nov. 30 through Dec. 4. Hale was arraigned in the Town of Ellicott Court and remanded to Chautauqua County Jail to reappear at a later date.
