Immediate Care to continue participation with Blues

Immediate Care will continue to participate as an in-network urgent care center with BlueCross BlueShield of Western New York through June 30 as a result of a New York State Supreme Court ruling, according to the two organizations.

BlueCross BlueShield on Nov. 6 announced that it would no longer consider Immediate Care a participating provider as of Jan. 1 after the urgent care company rejected its rates.

“We’re pleased with the court’s decision. Our goal remains the same: To provide the very highest quality healthcare to our community,” Dr. Greg Daniel, president of TeamHealth Urgent Care Division, the management company of Western New York Immediate Care, said in a statement.

“As the region’s leading health plan, we continue to advocate for lower costs and highest quality for our members,” Julie Snyder, a BlueCross BlueShield spokeswoman, said in a statement.
