Niagara Falls man goes to prison in domestic violence case

LOCKPORT – A man who repeatedly assaulted a woman who had a restraining order against him was sentenced to 1½ to three years in state prison Monday by Niagara County Judge Sara Sheldon Farkas.

Darrell K. Clause, 27, of Cudaback Avenue, Niagara Falls, had washed out of the judicial diversion program of court-supervised drug treatment after pleaded guilty Jan. 30 to two counts of first-degree criminal contempt, both felonies.

Prosecutors said Clause assaulted the woman twice in the fall of 2012 in Niagara Falls, and assaulted her again in Lockport after she moved there.
