Katie Healy poured in a personal best 25 points, but it wasn’t enough as St. Bonaventure lost to Toledo, 64-62, on Sunday in Olean.
Senior guard Janelle Reed-Lewis scored the winning basket on a jumper with two seconds remaining for Toledo (5-4). St. Bonaventure fell to 8-4 on the season.
Gabby Richmond missed the potential go-ahead jumper with 11 seconds left and Toledo rushed down the court and found Reed-Lewis for the winner.
Emily Michael missed a three-pointer for Bona, who led by as many as 10 points in the second half, as time expired.
Healy, a sophomore forward from Lancaster, also hit a career high 11 field goals. Richmond added 17 points and nine rebounds, while Nyla Ruetter added 10. Chelsea Bowker registered a career high in steals with five, while Michael had a career best five assists.
Elsewhere, the Canisius College women’s basketball team (4-4) plays its final non-conference game at 7 tonight at Vermont. The Golden Griffins have been idle the last eight days because of final exams, and last played Dec. 7 against Bryant, a 61-59 win.
The Canisius men (6-4) will try and rebound from a 67-51 loss at St. Francis (N.Y.) on Saturday when they play at 7 p.m. Monday against Holy Cross (5-4) in Worcester, Mass.. The Griffs have won four of seven while the Crusaders have won three of four.
