YORKSHIRE – A Yorkshire man was arrested Thursday and charged with third-degree assault in the hit-and-run incident Tuesday that injured a Java woman.

Ricky S. Schwab, 53, was identified as the driver of a pickup that hit the woman in the parking lot of Walgreens on Route 39 about 3 p.m. Troopers said Melissa Snyder of Java was putting her two young children into her car when Schwab’s pickup pinned her against her vehicle. Schwab backed up and drove off, police said. Schwab was charged with third-degree assault, tampering with physical evidence and possession of a forged instrument.
