The East Hill Foundation has awarded a $20,000 grant to the YWCA of Western New York for its domestic violence program, which helps victims of domestic violence and their children with temporary housing and instruction in life skills.

“In this difficult economy, support from the private sector is so important,” said Deborah Lynn Williams, chief executive officer of the YWCA of Western New York.

“Government support for programs for those most in need is dwindling, but the need is not,” she added.
