NIAGARA FALLS – A malfunctioning toaster was blamed for a fire that damaged a single-family home at 2110 North Ave. about 9:45 p.m. Tuesday.

Niagara Falls Fire Prevention Chief Daniel M. Ciszek said the blaze was brought under control in about a half an hour. Damage was estimated at $35,000. Three residents of the home were displaced and are lodging with a relative, Ciszek said.
