A 59-year-old Colombian woman deported from the United States in 2004 after a drug conviction was arrested by U.S. Customs and Border Protection agents while in a commercial bus at the Peace Bridge on Monday.

Maria Villamarin Hernandez was carrying a passport from Spain, but a check confirmed she had altered her date of birth, place of birth and her native country to conceal her real identity. The Spanish passport lists her as a native of Venezuela.

She is being held on illegal entry and false statement charges and the U.S. Attorney’s Office has been notified.
