Three convicted of March 12 robbery linked to love triangle dispute

Three 21-year-old Buffalo men were convicted today of robbing a woman and her boyfriend March 12 in a Peace Street home in what prosecutors described as a love-triangle dispute.

Earl Stone of Amherst Street, Ted Anderson of Earl Place and Brandon Close of Burnie Lane pleaded guilty to first-degree robbery before Erie County Judge Thomas P. Franczyk.

Stone and his two co-defendants confronted Stone’s former girlfriend and her new boyfriend at the home, where they pistol-whipped the boyfriend and took $170, a smartphone and diamond earrings, according to Erie County District Attorney Michael P. Felicetta.

Police arrested all three and recovered the stolen items.

The defendants face five to 25 years in prison when sentenced Jan. 27, according to District Attorney Frank A. Sedita III.
