ALBION – Orleans County authorities announced Monday that a Lockport man was arrested Friday as he sat in his car with 43 bags of alleged crack cocaine.
John H. Butler, 32, of Sweetwood Drive, was charged with third- and fourth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation in the wake of the arrest in a parking lot on South Main Street in the Village of Albion.
A search warrant also was executed at Butler’s apartment by the Niagara County Drug Task Force and Sheriff’s Office. The Orleans County Major Felony Crime Task Force, Albion Police and the Orleans County Sheriff’s Office investigated crack dealing in Albion for a month before the arrest.
Butler was held without bail because of his prior criminal record, which includes three state prison sentences on drug felonies, all issued by Orleans County judges.
