Felonies reduced to misdemeanors in two Niagara County cases

LOCKPORT – Two persons who had been indicted on felony charges were allowed to plead guilty to misdemeanors in separate cases before Niagara County Judge Matthew J. Murphy III Monday.

Anthony J. Pettitt, 21, of Fourth Street, Niagara Falls, admitted to seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. He had 1.55 grams of cocaine and some oxymorphone when police raided his then-home on 24th Street in the Falls Nov. 26, 2012.

Colleen D. Vinson, 45, of Ewings Road, Newfane, pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor count of driving while intoxicated. She was arrested after her vehicle struck a tree about 10 p.m. May 17 on South Main Street in Newfane. Murphy scheduled sentencing in both cases for Feb. 13.
