Jewelry haul made in Niagara Falls during midday residential break-in

NIAGARA FALLS – About $1,300 worth of jewelry was stolen from a 29th Street home during a midday break-in Friday, police said..

Between 1 and 3 p.m., someone pried open a window in a mud room and entered the home, then made off with of jewelry from throughout the house. Items taken included two gold necklaces, a diamond engagement ring with multiple small diamonds, a silver bracelet and a pair of stud earrings. The thief also stole $205 in cash.

The victim told police she noticed the rear gate open upon returning home, when the break-in was discovered.
