TVGA Consultants, a Buffalo-based architecture, engineering and land survey firm with nearly a century of history, has been sold to an Atlanta-based firm.
The buyer is KHEOPS Architecture, Engineering and Survey, a sister company of KHAFRA Engineering Consultants, which is headquartered in Atlanta. KHAFRA has eight regional offices around the country. KHEOPS was established to provide services in New York State.
The two firms completed the deal Nov. 26. The terms were not disclosed.
“Together, we can service clients more completely with added expertise and experience,” said Valentino Bates, president of KHEOPS. The firm said it began discussions with TVGA about a deal in 2011.
TVGA has adopted the KHEOPS name, and the firm’s customers will have access to a wider variety of professional services as a result of the deal, said Jill Sawyer, marketing director.
TVGA traces its roots to 1917, to a firm founded in Buffalo under the name Cudall, Powell and Mosher. Over the decades, its name and partners changed, and acquisitions were made. TVGA built a new corporate office in Elma in 1995, then moved back to downtown Buffalo, on Main Street, in 2011.
KHEOPS is now based at 300 Pearl St. Twenty-eight of TVGA’s 30 employees were retained, and Edward Schiller, who was TVGA’s president, is now the KHEOPS regional manager of New York.
