New York State Education Commissioner John King will meet with educators, parents and community members at a public forum this evening in Chautauqua County.

The topics of discussion include the Common Core Standards and he state Board of Regents’ reform agenda.

The forum is open to the general public. Anyone in the audience who wants to speak or ask questions must sign up at the event.

People who are not able to speak because of time constraints may submit written comments to the commissioner.

The forum is co-hosted by Jamestown Public Schools and Jamestown Community College. It will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. in the auditorium of Jamestown High School, 350 E. 2nd St.

Regents Chancellor Emeritus Robert M. Bennett also will be available for questions and comments.
