Two drivers injured in crash in Chautauqua County

MAYVILLE – A 24-year-old Ripley woman and a 43-year-old Mayville man were hospitalized after a two-car crash on Rt. 394 in the Town of North Harmony about 2:50 p.m. today, the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office reported.

Jaelyn R. Kuczynski was southbound on Rt. 394 when she reportedly tried to make a left turn into a driveway on the east side of the road, allegedly failing to yield to a northbound car driven by Todd C. Martin.

The two vehicles collided with the Martin car striking Kuczynski’s vehicle on the passenger side and sending it spinning against a telephone pole. Martin was taken by ambulance to WCA Hospital for treatment of what were described as apparently minor injuries. Kuczynski was taken by Starflight to Hamlot Medical Center in Erie, Pa, with reportedly non-life-threatening injuries. The accident remains under investigation with charges pending against at least one of the drivers, officials said.
