Public fishing piers set to close at two locations

LEWISTON – Public fishing piers at the Robert Moses Niagara Power Plant and Lewiston Reservoir near the Upper Mountain Fire Company will close for the winter on Monday.

The reopening of the fishing pier at the Robert Moses plant will be impacted by ongoing road work.

When completed late next year, the road renovations will provide a redesigned, paved and safer access road for vehicles and pedestrians.

The Power Authority is constructing a riverside pedestrian walkway along the road, from the upper to the lower parking lots, with a guide rail separating vehicles from pedestrians.

Status updates on the reopenings are available by calling (716) 796-0135,
