Lawmakers aiding local food pantries

Two local state representatives have announced they are collecting donations to benefit local food pantries.

Assemblyman Ray Walter, R-Amherst, said donations to the Food Bank of Western New York may be dropped off from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. through Dec. 19 at his district office, 5555 Main St., Williamsville.

Walter also will accept donations when he hosts an open house at his Williamsville office from 4 to 7 p.m. Dec. 17.

Assemblyman John Ceretto, R-Lewiston, will accept nonperishable food and personal care items on behalf of the Heart, Love, and Soul Food Pantry in Niagara Falls.

People wishing to give can drop off their donations at Ceretto’s district office at 1700 Pine Ave., Niagara Falls.
