Split sentence for former Lockport man in meth case

LOCKPORT – A former Town of Lockport man must serve six months in jail to start a five-year probation term for making methamphetamines, Niagara County Judge Sara Sheldon Farkas ordered Wednesday.

Jonathan J. O’Dell, 22, formerly of Fairway Drive, now is living in North Tonawanda with his girlfriend, Jessica L. Pittler, 23, who was placed on five years’ probation last week.

They were arrested when police raided the former home on Fairview Drive in Lockport April 30 and found a meth lab in the basement. Both admitted to reduced charges of attempted third-degree unlawful manufacture of meth.

In another drug case Wednesday, Farkas sent Lawrence A. Garabedian to jail for a year for violating probation on his guilty plea to seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. Garabedian, 60, of 20th Street, Niagara Falls, pleaded guilty last year to a reduced charge after being accused of selling heroin.
