Eighteen under-aged drinkers nabbed in University District

In the continuing crackdown on under-aged drinking in Buffalo’s University District by party-happy college and high school students, state troopers assigned to the City Police Department’s Buffalo Strike Force and working hand in hand with investigators from the State Department of Motor Vehicles, arrested 18 underage suspects as they tried to enter bars in Buffalo and Amherst using fake or altered identification over the past week.

DMV investigators identified fraudulent and altered licenses from New York State and three from Pennsylvania, four from Connecticut and one each from Missouri, new Jersey and Massachusetts. Troopers arrested the 18 persons for possessing or using forged, fictitious or illegally obtained licenses, a violation of the state’s Vehicle and Traffic Law. The suspects all face proceedings in Buffalo City Court or Amherst Town Court.
