YOUNGSTOWN – The Niagara County Industrial Development Agency will hold a public hearing at 3:15 p.m. Dec. 4 in Village Hall on a tax break sought by developers seeking to build a 30-unit apartment complex on the Youngstown Cold Storage site on Third Street.

Burke Homes of Hamburg and CCS Construction of Buffalo, owned by David Pawlik, have presented a $3.4 million proposal to the IDA board to demolish the long-abandoned fruit-packing plant and replace it with market-rate one- and two-bedroom apartments in a two-story building.

The IDA board is likely to vote a week after the hearing on the request for 15 years of property tax reductions and exemptions from sales tax on building materials and furnishings for the apartments, expected to save the developers almost $750,000 over the 15-year period.
