Paula Deen to visit Buffalo area for cooking show

Expect to see embattled Southern food celebrity Paula Deen next February when she visits the area for a live cooking show to inaugurate her new store in Clarence.

It’s been a tough year for Deen, whose racist remarks – she admittedly used the N-word – cost her numerous endorsements and knocked her off the Food Network. Most recently, Deen’s camp has denied published reports that her marriage to tugboat captain Michael Groover had also hit the skids.

Her live cooking show is scheduled for 2:15 p.m. Feb. 8 at Samuel’s Grande Manor, 8750 Main St., Clarence. It will be open to the public with general admission tickets going for a cool $60.

Event sponsor Springer Mountain Farms ( will make a donation to both Food Bank of Western New York and Meals on Wheels for Western New York.

Deen’s store – Paula Deen Foods, 10225 Main St., Clarence – represents a partnership between Deen and the Nanco Group. It produces Deen-branded packaged foods such as baking mixes, regular and sugar-free chocolates, finishing butters, soups and tortilla chips.

Tickets are available from A VIP luncheon with Deen will offer a photo opportunity, gift bag and a signed copy of “Paula Deen’s Southern Cooking Bible” for $250.
