NEWFANE – Citing “privacy issues.” Newfane School Superintendent Michael Wendt today declined comment on injuries to a 12 or 13-year-old Newfane Middle School student who was taken by a Mercy Flight helicopter to Buffalo’s Womens and Children’s Hospital after suffering a head injury at the school.

The helicoptor was filmed taking the boy off the school’s playing field Wednesday afternoon, but Wendt insisted that information may be disclosed only at a later time. He said “privacy issues” prevent the school system from releasing information about any school-related subjects.
