Toledo 51, UB 41: How the Bulls lost the game

How Toledo Won: The Rockets had UB guessing right from the get-go. Speedster Bernard Reedy was alone in single coverage and hauled in a 59-yard TD pass before the game was three minutes old. Toledo continued to torment the Bulls with big plays, getting TD runs of 53 and 44 yards along the way.

Turning Point: Reedy’s catch set the tone.

Player of the Game: Reedy, a senior wideout, had three catches for 149 yards and two touchdowns.

UB Player of the Game: Khalil Mack was outstanding. No quit whatsoever. But you have to admire the way quarterback Joe Licata performed under the duress of a lopsided scoreboard and constant pressure. He became the first Bulls QB since 2011 to throw for more than 300 yards.

Stat Check: UB was outgained, 350-131, in the first half.

What It Means: UB’s seven-game winning streak is history. The Bulls are now tied with Bowling Green for the MAC East lead. Both have one game remaining before their Black Friday showdown at the Ralph.

In the House: They announced 15,036. Maybe half that.

Next Up: UB’s final edition of Tuesday in the MAC concludes with next week’s game against Miami in Oxford. Kickoff is 7:30.
