A 24-year-old Dunkirk woman was killed in a two-vehicle crash Monday night, when she lost control of her vehicle on snow-covered Route 20 in the Town of Pomfret, State Police at Fredonia reported Tuesday.

Lea Genung was pronounced dead at the scene, following the crash, which occurred at about 8:30 p.m.

She was westbound on Route 20 when she lost control of her vehicle, which went into the eastbound lane and was struck on the driver’s-side door by an oncoming eastbound vehicle driven by Darrin Stott, 45, of Forestville, according to police reports. Stott attempted to enter the eastbound shoulder and had slowed almost to a stop before the crash, state police said.

Stott was taken by ambulance to Brooks Memorial Hospital after reporting back pain. No charges have been filed.
