All 14,000 entries in the 118th running of the YMCA Turkey Trot on Thanksgiving Day are sold out, YMCA Buffalo Niagara announced Monday.

The race, the oldest continuous foot race in North America, is limited to 14,000 participants in order to meet the fire code regulations in the Buffalo Niagara Convention Center, where the post-race party and awards ceremony take place. Last year the race sold out on Nov. 13.

“The popularity of our event has grown every year,” race director Tom Donnelly said. “Our participants recognize that, and to be sure they get an entry before our cap is reached, they are entering earlier.”
