Niagara History Center plans book, print sale

LOCKPORT – The Niagara History Center’s book and print sale will begin Nov. 30 and run through Dec. 21 at two Lockport locations – the Outwater Emporium Gift Shop at the History Center, 215 Niagara St., and at the Lock, Stock & Barrel Gift Shop at the Erie Canal Discovery Center, 24 Church St.

The event includes the sale of new and vintage books, works on history and books by local authors who are well-represented in the shops.

Prints on sale include drawings, photographs, posters and both matted or unmatted and framed or unframed works.

The shops also carry gift items, including Cat’s Meow collectibles that feature figurines of local landmarks, suitable for the holidays.

Also available are figurines of Shamus Restaurant, 30-Mile Point Lighthouse and the Children’s Memorial Park Gazebo.

Admission to both museum shops is free. The museum complex is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday.

The Erie Canal Discovery Center is open from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday through Saturday.

The discovery center will be open until 5 p.m. Nov. 30 for a special children’s story time that will feature a visit with Mrs. Claus.
