Ohio man killed in a crash in North Harmony

An Ohio man was killed Sunday when his vehicle crossed into oncoming traffic and was struck by another vehicle on the Interstate-86 in the Town of North Harmony, according to State Police based in Jamestown.

The victim, Thomas Erickson, 57, of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, was traveling west in the passing lane when his vehicle left the roadway, traveled across the center shoulder, through the center median and into eastbound traffic, investigators said.

His vehicle collided with a 2012 Jeep Cherokee, operated by Barbara Kubiak, 52, of Bradford, Pa., police reported. She was flown to Hamot Medical Center in Erie, Pa., with a complaint of chest pains.

Erickson was taken by ambulance to Women’s Christian Association Hospital in Jamestown where he was pronounced dead.
