A Chicago man was sentenced Thursday by Chief U.S. District Judge William M. Skretny to a year in prison for marijuana trafficking.

Salah Mohamed Ahmed, 37, was previously convicted of conspiracy to distribute 50 kilograms or more of marijuana. He is ojne of six defendants convicted in the case.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Timothy C. Lynch said Ahmed was part of a criminal enterprise that imported marijuana from Canada, then distributed the marijuana to customers in Detroit, Chicago and Buffalo.
